Jerry Murry, PhD’94 and his family attended the 2023 Rose Bowl where No. 8 Utah took on No. 11 Penn State in the 109th Rose Bowl Game in Pasadena.
Although the Rose Bowl didn’t end with the outcome, we all hoped for, everyone who attended had a tremendous time being in Pasadena among more than 30,000 Utah fans. Tailgating started early in the morning, and the day wasn’t over until well after 9. The tailgate featured the marching band, the U cheerleaders, and a dance squad.
Jerry A. Murry obtained his PhD in synthetic organic chemistry at the University of Utah with Professor Gary E. Keck in 1994 and completed an NIH post-doctoral fellowship with Professor David A. Evans at Harvard University. He started his industrial career at Pfizer, then worked as the Director of Process Development at Merck Research Laboratories. He joined Amgen in 2006, where he is now Vice President of Small Molecule Process and Product Development.
Jerry Murry received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2014 from the University of Utah Department of Chemistry.
Thank you, Jerry, and your family, for supporting the Utah team!
