The title of her talk is “A Career at EPA.” The presentation will focus on my path to EPA and during my tenure at EPA. She will highlight activities and projects that she has contributed to as well as those of a few of her colleagues. She will close out my presentation providing information on opportunities at EPA and how to prepare for the application process.

Dr. Rochelle Bohaty has nearly 15 years of technical, scientific, and cross-divisional coordination expertise in the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution. Currently, she serves as the Branch Chief of Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxic, Existing Chemicals Risk Assessment Division where she is overseeing the development of the risk evaluations for 1,4-dioxane and formaldehyde. Prior to moving to OPPT, Dr. Bohaty served as a Branch Chief in the in the Office Pesticide Programs, Environmental Fate & Effects Division. She has over five years of experience as a Senior Scientist mentoring staff as well as providing expert technical advice and guidance on the conduct of drinking water, ecological, and endangered species assessments. Her work includes several high-profile risk assessments and leading various special projects and workgroups advancing risk assessment methods including the 2019 Scientific Advisory Panel meeting on the Quantitative use of Surface Water Monitoring Data in Drinking Water Assessments.
Dr. Bohaty holds a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Utah and a B.A. in chemistry from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Originally from the Pacific Northwest Dr. Bohaty resides in Alexandria, VA with her husband, three children, two dogs, and two ducks. She enjoys most sports, snowboarding, hiking, biking, gardening, fishing, and crafting. She is a swim and soccer mom. Her happy place is at the lake!
